Rules for the Transportation of Petroleum Products
The rules for transporting petroleum products in Ukraine are strictly regulated by legislation (the Law “On the Transportation of Dangerous Goods”, DSTU standards) and require special documentation, compliance with safety regulations (routes outside populated areas, marking), and the availability of appropriate permits/licenses for carriers.
- Requirements for Commercial Transportation
To transport gasoline, diesel fuel, or fuel oil, it is necessary to have:
- License: Mandatory for the transportation of dangerous goods; issued by Ukrtransbezpeka.
- ADR Certificate (ADR): The driver must complete special training and carry a valid certificate authorizing the transportation of dangerous goods.
- Vehicle approval: A special certificate authorizing the vehicle to transport specific dangerous goods.
2. Documentation
- Waybill for petroleum products: A special form of the consignment note (the e-waybill is becoming the standard for many industries).
- Route sheet: Approved by the police authorities (in specified cases).
- Information plates: The vehicle must display hazard signs and orange plates with the substance code (for example, 1202 for diesel fuel, 1203 for gasoline).
3. Technical Requirements
- The vehicle must be equipped with firefighting equipment (fire extinguishers) and sorbents for spill response.
- For transportation, compliance with ADR standards is required.
